S-Fold and Singapore Pleats can both look tidy and premium, but they create different lines and need different track planning. The better choice depends on the room, fabric and the appearance you want.
S-Fold curtains
S-Fold creates a continuous wave from front to back. It suits modern interiors, hotel-inspired spaces and wide windows where a clean rhythm is important.
- Look: soft, continuous and contemporary.
- Track: normally uses a dedicated S-Fold track and glider spacing.
- Fabric: works best when the fabric can hold a smooth wave.
- Space: requires enough depth for the wave to move without obstruction.
Singapore Pleats
Singapore Pleats create a structured heading with controlled folds. The appearance is tailored and orderly, while individual hooks make adjustment and maintenance practical.
- Look: neat, upright and tailored.
- Track: works with suitable conventional curtain tracks.
- Fabric: adaptable across many fabric types.
- Maintenance: individual hooks make the curtain easier to handle during washing or adjustment.
Which should you choose?
Choose S-Fold when the room is modern, the track depth is suitable and you want a continuous wave. Choose Singapore Pleats when you prefer a more structured line, practical hook-by-hook control or a style that can work with a wider range of existing conditions.
Neither style is automatically “more expensive-looking”. Proportion, height, fabric behaviour, fullness and installation quality have a greater effect on the final result.
